Anyone in business understands the crucial importance of a contact list. This list is the backbone of any enterprise, serving as the primary channel for promotion, outreach, and sales. However, in my experience with the “Be Your Own Boss” Dream Team, I’ve noticed that not everyone operates at the same pace. While I value efficiency and a strong work ethic, it’s evident that not everyone can match my speed. I thrive on fast-paced work and juggling multiple aspects of my business simultaneously, even though not all of them run automatically.
Many of us are advised to begin with our warm list in network marketing, which consists of family and friends. However, like many, I recognized that relying solely on this inner circle wouldn’t be sufficient in a commission-based role where success requires an extra drive. Thus, I sought strategies to generate leads beyond my immediate connections.
SO HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO KEEP THE LEADS COMING IN THE MANUAL WAY:
- Always prioritize building your contact list.
- Don’t slow down in adding names; there are always new contacts available.
- Emphasize customer acquisition throughout your Network Marketing Career.
- Continually add contacts — it’s an ongoing process.
- Approach list-building with urgency and enthusiasm to ensure success.
- Even if you started with minimal capital, treat your business as if it had a $290K startup cost.
- Aim for a continuously growing contact list.
- Challenge: Add at least one name per day.
(KEY #1): REVIEW WHO YOU KNOW
HOW:
Most people who think they’ve exhausted their contact lists, really have not we typically know more people than we think.
Have Faith: Believe that every person “should” have an opportunity to have their own home-based business & believe every person can be sponsored. (Remember: The proper training can solve the 2 main problems: lack of leads & lack of money!)
HOW:
START BY ADDING 5 NAMES PER CATEGORY
(KEY #2): ACTIVELY MEET NEW PEOPLE
Purposefully attend events with the primary goal of adding a contact
HOW:
- IDENTIFY 5 EVENTS ALREADY ON YOUR CALENDAR THIS WEEK
- Go 15 minutes early or stay 15 minutes later so you aren’t rushed
- Meet and have a meaningful conversation with at least one person
- Who are you going to help & how am I gonna help them?
- I think I may have something to help you…
- Be a server person 1st and a sales person 2nd: Build relationships
(KEY #3): ALWAYS ASK FOR REFERRALS
- Personal contacts (free) 7 out of 10
- Referrals (free) 1 out of 2
- Do you know anybody that’s into the MLM Business or Network Marketing?
- Advertising 1 out of 8
- Cold Leads 1 out of 10
Referrals = answers end with a name
(KEY #4): “UN- LIMIT” YOUR LIST
- Add back names of people you may not have put on your list b/c:
- You’ve pre-judged them
- Afraid of approaching them
- They said “no” but realize that they circumstances may have changed from the initial approach
