As someone who’s an introvert, branding in general didn’t always come easy. I didn’t have the financial backing for marketing to compensate for my disdain of self-promotion, so I relied solely on my internet & writing skills to tell and sell my story without having to compromise my comfort level.
I quickly learned in my early days of entpreneurship branding is a must for consumers, investors, and partners to learn who you are, so in the end you can further elevate your message. For me, I’ve always been the type to lead in the background while consciously telling my story through the good deeds that come from my life’s work. But the good old days of being in the foreshadow are gone.
Going into 2024, founders, owners, and CEO’s are celebrities in their own right. Technology and social media has made it so that you don’t have to rely on traditional marketing (radio, tv, print, etc.) to get your voice out and be heard. You can look at the business pages on social media and see that instead of the business logo, the founder or CEO is the face of the company.
That is a strategic and personal move. To give the public a warmer sense of engagement.
Personal branding is all about strategic planning that involves intentionality and thought. Your personal brand tells your story. Crafting a definitive message through your daily actions will help you build a consistent presence. As you grow, you must then actively manage your reputation from your public exposure.
Lastly, anyone who’s consciously building a brand can regularly assess the impact of their personal brand efforts as they continue to collaborate, grow, and evolve. The public’s perception of who you are will be defined by those action steps.
